Jonathon Friedrich
Graduate, Sydney
vacation clerk 2007/2008

The combination of a supportive partnership, high quality international work and a friendly environment are the reasons why I would recommend Minter Ellison to anyone seeking a clerkship.

Partner, Melbourne
articled clerk 2003

Undertaking my Articles at Minter Ellison has turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions that I have made to date. Minter Ellison has provided me with some amazing opportunities and it has been a great environment for my development both professionally and personally. In particular, I have enjoyed the quality and varied nature of client matters that I have been involved in and the opportunity to work with and learn from colleagues with diverse backgrounds and extensive experience.

Angie Meikle
Lawyer, Canberra
vacation clerk 2006/7

The practical legal experience that I gained from the summer clerk program at Minter Ellison was excellent.  It offered the chance to work in a top tier law firm, with first class legal professionals, for large commercial clients.  The work was challenging and provided an opportunity to put theory into practice.  I was supported and mentored by the partners and other lawyers that I worked with.  Employees at all levels were friendly and interested in getting to know me, both at work and at numerous social functions.  I found that the staff at Minter Ellison were very approachable and caring and always took time to give me further guidance on any tasks.  For these reasons my summer clerkship experience was rewarding both professionally and personally.

Julia Loipersberger
Lawyer, Adelaide
summer clerk 2007/08

The Minter Ellison clerkship experience is a fantastic introduction to working at a legal firm, as clerks are fully immersed and involved in all aspects of legal practice including client meetings and court attendances. The most important thing is the network of support that senior practitioners provide to clerks and juniors, which means that you are able to feel confident in what you are learning. I also found it very rewarding to be involved in the firm's pro bono initiative at the Housing Legal Clinic, which offers legal assistance and representation to members of the community who might not otherwise have a voice.

Ben Cockerill
Partner, Perth
articled clerk 1999

Over the past 10 years, the firm has been able to maintain a culture which is collaborative, energetic and supportive but still offers extremely challenging work with tier one clients. This is reflected in the people who work at the firm, who are committed to preserving this culture, and make the firm a great place to work.

Matthew Roach
Graduate, Brisbane
graduate 2009

I started as a research clerk at Minter Ellison while at university. I was immediately surprised by how close-knit and welcoming the firm was to me as a student. Right from the beginning senior lawyers took the time to teach me the context and commercial aspects of our legal work. One of the things that impressed me was how many of the lawyers have worked here from graduate to partner level, which shows that Minter Ellison is committed to developing lawyers to their full potential. I chose Minter Ellison as a graduate because the expertise of its lawyers and the work we get is second-to-none, and the firm has a positive culture that builds long-lasting relationships.
