Your Development
You've completed your law degree - now the real life legal learning begins. Minter Ellison is committed to a strong and sustainable learning culture. Our aim is to take your learning to the next level, providing a structured approach but allowing for flexibility to meet your individual needs.
We want our lawyers to have every opportunity to achieve their potential, personally and professionally, starting at graduate level with our Graduate Development Program.
We designed the Graduate Development Program to cover technical legal skills and the core commercial skills - such as people management, client interaction and practice development – that you'll need to build a successful long-term legal career. The Graduate Development Program includes:
Graduate orientation program. Before you join your practice group you will take part in ourcomprehensive orientation program where you'll gain a deeper understanding of the firm and its operations. It is also an excellent opportunity for you to get to know your fellow graduates.
Practice group rotations. We understand that you may not yet have decided which area of law you ultimately want to practice in. Our practice group rotation program provides you with the opportunity to learn about and experience our various areas of legal practice before deciding on your area of interest.
Practical Legal Training. Our in-house Practical Legal Training program is tailored specifically for entry-level graduates in our Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Perth offices.
Mentoring & coaching. To give you the best start possible to your legal career, the Graduate Development Program will provide you with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by senior lawyers.
As a graduate in a practice team, you are joining a terrific learning environment. You will be surrounded by smart, experienced lawyers, excellent technical resources and interesting client case work. With our Graduate Development Program and the support and feedback from your peers and senior lawyers, you can begin to design your own career.
