Knowing which program is right for you at what time can get confusing!
In order to be eligible to apply for a vacation clerkship or graduate position at Minter Ellison, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
During your first year of law, particularly if you're studying a combined degree, take the time to settle in to full-time study. As you enter your second year of law, you can start exploring your options through part time positions as a paralegal or research assistant. These sorts of positions can provide great relevant experience and will be well regarded when you apply for vacation clerkship or graduate positions.
It takes a great deal of effort to combine casual or part time work and study full-time and it is important to remember that work experience is just one way to complement your studies. It is just as important to explore opportunities to get involved in campus activities through your law faculty and law students society, and pursue your interests outside of university.
