What we do
The Business Development team provides expertise in, and support for, business planning, account management, industry-based BD and profiling, tendering, sponsorships, media and PR, publications, website, client entertainment and special events. The national BD team is responsible for:
- supporting key account teams
- targeting new business
- delivering thought-leadership and profile raising initiatives
- assisting with business development training for lawyers.
As a Business Development graduate, you will be based in Melbourne or Sydney and work as part of a large international team reporting to the Director of Business Development. You will experience the opportunities of working for one of the largest law firms in the Asia Pacific and undertake challenging work across the firm including:
- practice groups (corporate, finance, tax, HR&IR, and dispute resolution)
- industry teams (financial institutions, energy & resources, technology, media & telecoms, real estate and construction, infrastructure, health & ageing and public sector).
- corporate communications (media, client communications, sponsorship and web site)
- firm-wide BD projects

To get your career off to a flying start, our two-year business development graduate program we provide you with all the tools and training you need to build your skills and professional expertise, including:
- an extensive orientation, where you will spend time developing your peer network (legal and non-legal)
- comprehensive training in professional marketing and communications, people management, client interaction and research
- the opportunity to learn about the legal industry, various practice areas and work with legal practitioners who are recognised experts in their field
- up to four rotations of six months within specialised teams servicing our practice areas and industry groups
- mentoring and coaching by senior professional services marketing specialists.
